Jim Begley and I started a new series of workshops in regions where there are rich opportunities to shoot Americana. Driving through rural Virginia today as made me even more excited about this series and the whole Americana subject matter. I’m not sure what it is, but I’ve just started to really appreciate things that are steeped in American History. I love my country, and I love to explore how we have changed over time. I happen to believe that God has richly blessed our country and the stories of our ancestors are a fascinating part of our story.

Thinking about all of this makes me so much more aware of the countless miracles God has visited on our nation. If you think of all the things we have survived, all the wars we have endured, and all the challenges we have faced, it gives you renewed hope that we can win against any odds, with God on our side.

For some time now, I have been praying for our leaders, and our country. I pray that we turn our hearts back to God and ask for His divine guidance and blessings.

Seek first the Kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you.

It’s worth the effort.

Be blessed and pray for our blessed nation,

Today starts three straight weeks of on the road work. I mentioned earlier about making lemonade
out of lemons. Actually all of these assignments are all fine. In fact Sun n’ Fun is a blast for me since it’s all about airplanes. So I hope to have some good images to share with you as I go to
Lynchburg, Va, Sun n’ Fun and then the Masters. Right after that is mine and Jim’s workshop in
Shaker Village…..

Quick thought to start your week and my travels. Even when you’re in a hurry to get your day
going, take a moment and remember, God has a plan, God loves you, and God want to talk to you. Take a moment and hit your knees or just talk out loud to Him as you drive. Tell Him how
thankful you are for His love, and forgiveness, ask Him how you an most effectively share that love with others. Tell Him about the things you know you’ve done that have hurt Him, ask Him to forgive you. He will. Tell Him you want to live the most wonderful life you can and you want to share that passion for life with others. Now fasten your seat belt, He love when we pray for that….

I was looking for the Penn Store the other day, the oldest continuous business in the same family in America and I found it…… It was closed. But I was greeted by a wonderful family of golden labs
all ready to welcome me in. Starting Monday I’m on the road constantly for three weeks. In a about a week I will be doing Sun n’ Fun and then the Masters, so maybe some cool shots coming?!

I just wanted to wish you a restful or exciting weekend, whichever you prefer. When I pulled up and saw these dogs with tails wagging coming out to greet me, I thought how sweet it is to feel love, even from some golden labs.

Someday, if you give your heart to the Lord, you will get an extraordinary welcome at the gates of heaven. It’s just that simple and just that sweet……

Today I made a trip over to the Harrodsburg area for a pro call and to scout the area for photography opportunities for mine and Jim Begley’s HDR workshop in April. I stopped by to check out a place called The Great American Dollhouse Museum. I was stunned by both the
museums wonderful pieces and the lady that is the curator, Lori Kagan Moore. Lori developed an interest in doll houses and doll house furniture as a young girl, several years ago she opened the museum. This is not just a collection of finely crafted houses, people and furnishings, it’s a trip through our history. The collection leads you through a fascinating journey of America. All kinds of architecture and lifestyles of the past and present are represented. All levels of the art are also on display including rooms like the one above, crafted to the most infinite detail. This is an exciting journey for anyone interested in master craftsman and history. 6,000 Square feet of impressive dollhouses (200) and countless miniatures are incredible, but Lori is evens more impressive. Her vast knowledge of the collection and it’s historic significance in even more amazing. A very nice, and gifted lady, who has given us a wonderful gift…….

I know our photographers are going to love capturing their favorites. I can highly recommend this wonderful museum to anyone traveling to the Danville, Kentucky area. In fact the museum is worth a trip all by itself. I hope you enjoy some of the miniature scenes below, they are a small fraction
of the vast display…….
