When the Metal Meets the Rails…..

January 1, 2012, 9:05 p.m., back in another Marriott.  Yep!  Christmas vacation is over.   I’m flying out in the morning at O”Dark Thirty for New Orleans.  I’m covering the Sugar Bowl and then later early next week the BCS Championship Bowl.  I will be in New Orleans for the next 8 days, then home for a few and right back to New Orleans for Imaging USA.  Oh well, they do send a check every two weeks.  I will try to find some interesting things to photograph over the next week to share with you!   I enjoy New Orleans and I’m sure some great subject matter will present itself.

I am on a more important mission though, of course there is the work to be done for Nikon, when I say covering a bowl game I mean assisting the media that is covering the game for publications.  While I often get to make some images that is not my main reason for being there, sorry to disappoint you!  The atmosphere should be exciting and I always enjoy working with the media, so all will go well!  My other mission is to serve my Heavenly Father by reaching out to everyone I come in contact with His love.  It’s amazing how many people He sends your way when you are looking for someone to serve!  Prat that He will make me able to complete His mission, an that all the glory in victory will go to Him!  I can’t tell you how excited I am to have the opportunity to do the work I do and serve the God I serve.

Please pray for me and all the others out there that know who they belong to, and who they serve!  The spiritual war is raging, but God is in control and He will see His plan completed!  I just pray daily that I’m a good servant and not and impediment to His plans!   I met with Jim Begley at the house this afternoon and we talked about some of the great workshops and trips planned for this year.  You should never wish a single day or moment away, but I can say I can’t wait for some of the great times that are out there in the future!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a fantastic start to your new year.  I look forward to sharing with you each day on this assignment.

My best,

1 Corinthians 13    New Living Translation (NLT)

13  Love Is the Greatest

1 If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. 3If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it;but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.

4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Bill, I am praying for your travels and your ministry. I can’t wait to see what you find to photograph in New Orleans. My youngest daughter moved there a year ago. I’ve visited twice and, even though I know New Orleans is rich with photo ops, I’m always stumped where to start. I am looking forward to joining you and Jim on at least one workshop in 2012!

Very good thought Bill. As you know I’ve been visiting with my sister’s family. I’m absolutely astounded at the difference between my home and this situation.

Where my wife and I are involved with God in everything we do, and home life shows it, even with perfect strangers who’ve come to live together, there is no unity here anywhere. There’s no consistency at all. With the exception of my sister, it sounds like there is only lip service to God. I can’t be here to observe and oversee the changes that need to be made. My sis is at loose ends. Her church is falling to pieces over some of the doctrinally divisive issues being raised in churches today, In fact, her daughter has never had any sort of conversation with the pastors, and it’s too large-too easy to hide from God there.

This is my last day here. Pray that The Lord would give exactly tree right words to say to begin to bring hearts to submission to Him. Your words from 1st Corinthians 13 are extremely appropriate.

    Blessings Bill,

    Rob
