I’m proud to be……..

Today I’m being honored in a very big way, my grandson Elijah has asked me to be his guest for lunch at his school along with his father and my son Wesley.  I know pride goes before a fall, but this is not that kind of pride.  Maybe I should have said I’m thankful to be, instead.  Today is what I will call Thankful Thursday, and I have a great deal to be thankful for, let me give you just a small part of my list;

I’m thankful to be God’s child.

I’m thankful to be forgiven.

I’m thankful to be Sherelene’s husband.

I’m thankful to be Scott, Wes, and Catherine’s father.

I’m thankful to be Diane, Clint, and Rhonda’s father-in-law..

I’m thankful to be Hannah Ben, Cassidy, Cade, Elijah, and Abigail’s grandfather.

I’m thankful to work with my great friends at Nikon.

I’m thankful to work for my great clients of Nikon.

I’m thankful to have such a great teaching partner in Jim Begley.

I’m thankful for all the blessings Scott Kelby has brought into my life.

I’m thankful for the wonderful friends God has given me over the years, far more than I deserve!

I’m thankful that at 66 years of age, I’ve learned to do a few things well.

I’m thankful that I have someone to love, something to do, and something to look forward to.

I’m thankful that you are reading this.

Every so often we need to sit down and contemplate just how richly God has blessed us, it puts everything else into perspective.

Be blessed today!

the pilgrim

Sorry Abigail, this was before you joined us!  We need to do a full family portrait again!

What a beautiful family, Bill. I am thankful for you, your godly role model, your friendship, your blog, your teaching, the wonderful workshops you and Jim put together, and the incredible group of people who lead and attend those workshops. My life is richer for knowing all of you.

    Dear Bill,

To point out the things you are thankful for is not pride, arrogance, or lack of humility as Schofield states in his notes on Job 42, referring to Job 29, but merely grateful recognition of God’s goodness and provision.

Your Family is beautiful and you have every right to thank God for the transformation He has done in your life, and how this has been reflected in the lives of your wife, children, grandchildren, friends and acquaintances.

How much we have to be thankful for: Incredible!

One of the things I’m particularly thankful for is what God has done, and continues to do through you. In a time when so many are afraid to offend, and are intimidated into silence, you fearlessly lift up the name of Jesus. Did I tell you that I met Alan Keyes last Friday? I spent about 6 hours talking with him about faith and politics. He’s another like you, fearless in lifting up the name of Jesus in the public arena!

Thank God that I’m not alone. I’m a fearless warrior and been extremely blessed to know a lot of fearless warriors. Some of them, praise God, like you,I’m thankful to be able to call friend!

Your Family is beautiful. I so thank God that you’ve chosen to share them with us Bill.

    Blessings,

    Rob

I’m thankful you are the pilgrim and share your love of God and photography. Though we’ve never personally met, you’ve had a big impact on me!

    Bill,

Wonderful sentiments. You are a role model in so many ways.

  5. It blesses me to hear a man whom I admire openly giving praise to God. Bless you! – Bob

  6. Bill,

You are quite an inspiration. A great photographer but more importantly someone who strives to help others see Christ through your eyes and works. I turned 50 last year, became a Christian 3 years ago, and have been a Nikon shooter for a while. I just took possession of a D800 (upgraded from a D200) and am very interested in your workshops.

I have a solid Christian friend who lives in Nashville and while he’s a Canon man (haha) he’s been quite a mentor to me over the years as we both work at the same company.

Do you have a date yet for your Nashville workshop? Also if you have a list of when/where your His Light Workshops will be could you please share?

God Bless you and your family – and thank you for all you are doing.
