Finding strength in difficult times…..

11 years, 11 months ago 1

Needed to get in a quick post tonight, just learned from Jim Haverstock that our dear friend Raymond Jabola lost his father today.  Please join with me, Jim Begley and all the His Light team in praying for Raymond and his family at this time of their loss.  Many of us, have unfortunately, been down this road, and know how difficult these hours are. Raymond is a great guy and we just pray that he will get everything he needs from his Heavenly Father.

Father, please wrap your loving arms around Raymond and his family.  Give them the assurance and peace that can only come from you at a time like this.  Please reveal yourself to him, and assure him that you have everything in your hands.  Amen

Raymond, we are all praying for you and your family, please let us know if we can help, in any way!!

We love you man,

Bill

    Bill,

I read this and was going to leave my condolences, but was oh so pressed by my commitments. The other thing is that grief its such a personal thing. My grief is not the same as yours, no matter how I’d like to equate it.

My daughter crawled into my lap just as we we were going to bury my wife and said-
“Dad, I’m only eight years old. Why did Jesus need to take Momma from us now?”
My reply was that I wasn’t sure. Momma was a great artist and maybe He needed her to make crowns for us or to help design mansions. Besides, Jesus had not taken the fun memories away, or left us alone without help, hope, or someone to care. He had given me to her as well as giving her lots of other loved ones to help ease the hurt, God willing, we’d be around for a lot of years to come. More importantly, I told her, like me,Jesus is with us when we feel so small and hurting. He is just waiting for us to curl up in His lap, having His wonderful arms wrap themselves around us as we let the tears flow, saying Daddy, it hurts so much, and hearing Him say, “I know!”

Well, on June the 6th, It’ll be twenty-one years since that dreadful day. Both my daughter and I have often discovered how comforting and very real Jesus is.

I hope that these words I’ve written will be equally comforting to your friends.

“God who comforts the miserable comforted us…” 2nd Corinthians 7:6a (ISV)
“For He, Himself, has said, ‘I will never leave you or forsake you.'” Hebrews 13:5b

    Blessings Bill,

    Rob
