Love of Christ

11 years, 1 month ago 21

I received this email from a friend, it grieves me to share it.  I am extremely concerned about the direction our society is headed.  Please read this and pray for our nation.

On the “Today Show”, Matt Lauer interviewed one of the wives of one of the Navy Seals killed along with the US ambassador in Libya. He asked, “What she would say to her children about their dad and how she would want them to remember him.” Her answer, and I quote, “His love for Christ”, and then continued on with a few other things. Throughout the day and on MSN homepage, replaying the story they have edited the “Love of Christ” part out. Why? Because using the word Christ might offend someone! Well, I am a Christian and I am offended! I’m offended that they would edit it out. Offended that we as Christians are asked to tread lightly so as not to offend someone of another religion. I think anyone who missed the original broadcast that morning should know what NBC has done. THIS IS PROOF OF HOW BIASED NBC IS. This man loved his country and loved his God and gave his life for both, just as Christ gave His life for him. Please feel free to copy this and forward it to everyone on your email list.. There are e-mails that go around saying, “If you believe in God” then forward this. Well, I am starting one right here, right now. I am not ashamed of God, but I am becoming more ashamed of my country. It is time to take a stand. GOD Bless America! God Bless us one and all… Please GOD, have mercy on us!

As Christians, we need to take a stand for the protection of our right to practice our faith….

In Him,

Amen, Bill! I hadn’t seen this and it’s probably a good thing. I’m dancing precariously along edge of my soapbox, so I may as well fully commit: I am offended, like you, that Christianity is being meticulously squeezed out of media in place of secular worldviews. Speaking the name of Jesus on air is, most times, edited out, but yet displaying homosexuality as part of a “typical” home life has taken its place. Good television isn’t something “vanilla” that extorts the virtues of a happy home life consisting of one mom, one dad and children who show respect. Instead, we have shows that, by their very title, give us some insight as to what they contain: “Pretty Little Liars”, “Revenge”, “Bad Girls Club” and the list goes on. Dare I even mention this years Oscars telecast? Offensive on every level. We can’t say “Jesus” but Seth MacFarlane could say just about anything, including a jab at “the Christian right”?

It’s easy to be outraged over the direction our country is headed and how acceptable certain things have become, but it certainly hasn’t shaken my husband & I to the point where we want to cry “mutiny” and give in to any of it. If anything, it causes us to stand more firmly in our convictions.

Thank you for using your platform for good and for spreading the name and love of Jesus! Bless you!

I hate to air this kind of thing, but this is exceedingly offensive to me as a Christian.

I did a little searching and it appears that this incident took place in 2011, relating to a SEAL who fell in Afghanistan rather than in the more recent attacks in Libya. Regardless of the time and date, it is a sad commentary on the position being taken broadly across the media. Don’t despair though Bill, Christ is alive and well here in Texas, including in the hearts of thousands of the rising generation of youth.

      Mark,
I agree, the up rising of young and older Christians is heartening for sure, I just wish that
the media would have respect for all us in the viewing audience.

The liberal media at work, they have to get Christ out of the picture somehow. It’s sad really, because you know this as well as I do Bill that God will have his vengeance on the doer’s of such acts. It’s exactly why I watch Fox News.
A link would be good as I couldn’t find the story.
    God Bless,
    Jack F

Amen amen brother Bill, the media is so one sided. No greater love than to lay down your life for another this is a true patriot and a Christian man I also stand with you, I am not ashamed of the name of Christ Jesus is my Lord and Savior.

This is for sure a sad thing to see. I shared this email on our Facebook page. Being silent is something we as Christians have done too long . It’s time to give Christ the praise and stand for him. He did die for us!

Let us stand for Him with more character than the world stands against Him…..

Thanks Aaron! Very kind of you to say so. Things are just bear bones so now the process of pittung some meat on the bones! I did want to just slap something together just so it was there. As I add new information I really want it to be meaningful, helpful and significant. I would love to write about anything you are interested in. Let me know! If you haven’t get on the email list. I did a lot of work to make it quality. Every time I write you will get a quality email about it.

    • I really appreciate free, succinct, reliable data like this.

I reposted this blog on my Google+ site and as I said there, this is just another clear and present sign that Jesus is coming back soon. We were all told in His Word that these days would come. It does not make it any easier to witness it, but it is an assurance that His Word is true and will come to pass. Come Lord Jesus!

I found the video. Either the video was never been edited, or it has been restored. The Today show video shows both the mother and the wife proclaiming the fallen Seals faith.

  8. Donna says:

I agree with you 100% and it is terrible the direction this country is headed if this is how we are forced to live in a ‘Godless’ country. To take out Christ’s name offends me too.

  9. Mark Papke says:

If she said the love of Allah or Buddha or any other deity, they would have left it alone. That confirms to me that the Christian faith is the real one because the devil and his minions don’t care if we worship other gods so why censor it.
