Resolution…….

Badwater, Death Valley

Working with Jack Graham is such a treat!  If he was only a wonderful workshop leader, or a world class shooter, that would be enough, but he’s a hoot to work with!  What most folks don’t know is that Jack was, prior to being a shooter, a great musician.  He played trumpet with some big bands, (the Jimmy Dorsey Band),  and artists like Frank Sinatra!!  I love music and when we work together a lot of time spent in the car is listening to some great jazz, which he knows a lot more about than I do!  On this workshop he taught me about resolution in music, something that I have to admit, was new to me.  As Jack explained, music uses tension to hold our interest and then it builds until we get “resolution” and that is when we get happy with the music.  I thought he was pulling my leg until he played some examples.  He was right!  So it got be to thinking, most of the things in our life work the same way.  We work through the tension, (everyday life), and then we are rewarded when we reach a resolution point. Resolution is the healing affect of coming to the “good” part.

Our spiritual lives are the same, we go along lost and wandering around separated from God and His love, then we get it, we wake up, we realize what He is offering us and wham, RESOLUTION!!!  One more great thing that came out of our workshop.  Thanks Jack, I learn something great every time we get to work together!  Now,  if I could just figure out what I bring to the table!!!???

    Bill,
What you taught me doesn’t compare to what I bring to the table. We do make a good team!
I am really looking forward to 2014!–Thanks for the kind words.
    Love ya man!

Great Photo’s Bill ~ Do you use polarizers on your lens 100% of the time?

  3. Oh I totally LOVE the one that is in both color and black and white. Did you take it with the Fuji? Just INCREDIBLE Bill!! I really want to shoot Death Valley sometime. I wish I could have done it this time. Still taking care of many details during this time. Thanks for praying for me during this time of my father’s going home to be with the Lord. The Lord is sustaining us all. I’ve been shooting beautiful landscapes here in the desert during this time and it has been a great blessing for me. I’m so thankful for all the things I’ve been learning from you as I grow in my photography. You’re the best!!!

No Catherine, that would be you!!!! Yes, virtually all my work now is with one of the Fuji X cameras, I now have three different models! Glad our Heavenly Father is sustaining you and David, Hope to see you guys someday soon!

      • I’ve been looking at the 3 different Fuji models – do you think the next Pro version will come out in early 2014 and what do you think about the possibility of a full frame model? Pure speculation I know :):)

        • Lynn Rogers says:

I ditto Catherine’s question about the Fuji’s. I’m wondering about the XE-2 or the X-Pro 2 which I assume is coming out in Jan 2014 with weather sealing and two card slots. Catherine, I think of you often and continue to pray for you.

Let me answer both of you in one answer. I too am hoping the early 2014 rumors are true, though he current three cameras I have are more than adequate for me now!! I will wait and see, the X-E1 replacement, the X-E2, looks like a great value, but, I will wait until the rumored model is out or proven vapor , and then decide. I hope they don’t go full frame, and doubt they will, the present performance is as good as or better than many full frame cameras now, and I don’t believe the current lenses will support more sensor area anyway. Full frame would require bigger, heavier cameras, which is most of why I went this route anyway, to avoid that! When I look back over the past years personal work, I don’t think I’ve ever shot better stuff, and know I’ve never had more fun!
            Well, that’s my thoughts, anyway…..

Catherine, I also agree with Lynn, we do think of you guys and pray for you often!

    • Thank you so much for your prayers. The Lord is so faithful with comfort and encouragement and I know your prayers are making a great impact in our lives during this time. Blessings to you.

To test resolution, sing a nursery rhyme around some kids, but stop before you sing the last line. The kids will usually finish it for you. We all need things to resolve!
