Well, it’s time to reflect on a great week at Olympic!  I really enjoyed the company and the subject matter.  Weather did not always co-operate but we alway found a worthy subject for the conditions! The Lord continues to teach me patience wen I’m working in the field.  Waiting on Him can be rewarding if you can learn how to take a deep breath and now that the quiet time is valuable and used by Him to get  your attention.  I have to say that if you are going to get slowed down this is a beautiful place to listen for His voice.

Mornings like this on Hurricane Ridge taught me to wait and see what He had in store.

Working with Jim reminded me of just how good a friend he is and what a great shooter he is.  I learn from him on every trip and he has made me a better photographer and a better man, I hope!

The Palouse is the one place on this trip that I cannot get enough of, it’s beauty is beyond description and I think I will be back there soon!

The Sol Duc River Valley in Olympic National Park is still one of my favorite spots in the park.  I could spend hours sitting near it’s roaring water and babbling brooks!

…….and dew drops are nature’s most beautiful string of pearls.  I’m blessed to have been here!

Wrapping up images from the week in Olympic, and on to the next assignment!  The image above is a 7 stop HDR, inspired by my partner, Jim Begley.  This images was made with the D4 and 28-300, a tough combination to beat!   Same outfit for the stones on the beach below.

Then I got a few close-ups with the XE-1.

I really needed some good light on Hurricane Ridge and it finally happened this morning!  You never know when it might happen!

It’s been a great trip with wonderful people, so its time to move to the next location, more soon!!

The Red Background on the fern shot??????  I was unhappy with the mottled background on the fern that was low to the ground, I slipped my red and grey windbreaker under the fern first trying the grey part first, then for “grins” I tried the red, Wallah – Christmas Card!

Chasing color in the Olympic Peninsula is not easy,up at 3:30 a.m. head hitting the pillow at 10:00 p.m.!  But the rewards are great!  This group have been troopers!  We went yesterday and this morning over in the Forks area and some of the close-up opportunities in the Hoh Rain Forest were spectacular!  Hope you enjoy this sampling……

Rich color, great times, it’s hard to beat!

Well, we are half way through the tour/workshop and we are two things, thrilled and beat.  This is a tough tour with 3:00 a.m. wake up calls and 11:00 p.m. back to sleep.  Even with daytime naps its tough, but the scenery and the company have  been wonderful!  This is a; great group of folks, and we are seeing some fantastic scenes.  I thought since i’ve been on the run and not shown much of the work, I would share a little best of, so far.  We covered the Palouse in the the past few posts so now it’s on to Mount Rainier and Olympic N.P.!  Here are a few of my favorites!

Roadside Americana!!!

The Lord has blessed with great subjects and even better fellowship!!!  Keep praying for us!

No Post Friday – traveling all day, but will catch you up Saturday evening!
