My EDC kit

It may not come as shock to you that I was a Boy Scout and I still live by their moto; “Be Prepared”.  When I travel by car, I always have an EDC,  (Every Day Carry),  kit in my car just in case I need to make some repairs in the field.  I have all of this in a Maxpedition Gear Beefy Pocket Organizer.  The SOG Multi Tool is the Power-Access Assist in Stonewash finish. The Gerber is the Prybrid Utility.  The Sog Multi tool comes with 1/4″ bits and the long driver heads also work with the Multi Tool.  The screwdrivers are the correct size for camera body and lens screws.

I’ve found very little that I can’t repair or adjust with this set of tools.  The full kit weighs about 3 lbs.  I carry a small version of the multi-tool and a set of allen wrenchs by Small Rig and another small flashlight in my camera bag.

You never know!!!!!!

Blessings,

When I’m out, I have a few items but not as extensive a ‘camera support’ kit as you. One item I would suggest for your readers is a copy of the camera manual (and other gear manuals) on your smartphone. This may be for finding an obscure setting that has somehow been miss set, trying to use rarely used feature to get an interesting image, or checking some detail you don’t quite recall. I’ve done all these and more.

That is a great suggestion, cameras today are really complex and having that resource with you is essential.

One of the personal essentials never listed is a steptic pencil for cuts… I can’t tell you the number of time back packing the steptic has been a lifesaver when you are out in “no where land”… take care…
