I get at least 5 emails a week asking which Fujifilm XF lenses I use most and which I think are best. \u00a0Below I have listed the lenses I use most, in order, top to bottom.<\/span><\/p>\n

  7. <\/li>\n
  8. 60mm Macro \u00a0f 2.4\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  9. <\/li>\n
  10. 100-400 f 4.5-5.6<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  11. <\/li>\n
  12. 90mm f 2<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  13. <\/li>\n
  14. 56mm f 1.2<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  15. <\/li>\n
  16. 16mm f 1.4<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  17. <\/li>\n
  18. 23mm f 2<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  19. <\/li>\n
  20. 16-55 f 2. 8 \u00a0– \u00a050-140 f 2.8 \u00a0 (tie)<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Next which are the best? \u00a0This is a little more complicated, the truth is all of \u00a0them are great, but I tend to rate lenses in four\u00a0catagores actualy four.; \u00a0Legendary, Exceptional, Pro Quality and Average<\/strong>. \u00a0Lenses are judged on sharpness, lack of distortion, lack of chromatic aboration, contrast, micro contrast, color quality and construction.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Legendary lenses<\/strong> are as good as it gets in all these parameters. \u00a0I consider the following XF Fujifilm lenses to fall into that catagory:<\/span><\/p>\n

    14mm f 2.8<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    60mm Macro f 2.4<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    56mm f 1.2<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    90mm f 2<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    50-140 f 2.8<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    16mm f 1.4<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    35mm f 2<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Exceptional lenses<\/strong> are also great in all these areas, \u00a0but just a a little short of the magical qualities of the legenday lenses.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Al the other XF lenses would fall into his catagory except for the 18mm f 2 which I stil consider to be a\u00a0Pro Quality<\/strong> lens, just not quiet Exceptional<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    I have no Average lenses<\/strong>, when I buy one and test it, it goes back to the dealer!<\/span><\/p>\n

    No Fujifilm XF lens has ever been judged, by me,\u00a0to be Average.<\/span><\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    I am shooting some of the best stuff of my career, and I consider the Fujifilm XF lenses a \u00a0big contributor to that!! \u00a0Here are some of my favorties that show the quality of the Fujifilm glass!<\/span><\/p>\n

    P.S. \u00a0Actually the green tree frog was shot with the Fujifilm X-T2 and the old Nikkor 200mm Macro f 4 manual focus lens, \u00a0since Fujifilm decided not to make a 120mm Macro, I picked this one up for situations where I needed more working distance in macro work. I’m looking forward to testing the new 80mm f 2.8 Macro coming later \u00a0 \u00a0this year from Fujifilm.<\/span><\/p>\n
