Dolly Parton has been a longtime supporter of charities, especially those relating to literacy.<\/span><\/p>\n

She established the Imagination Library<\/a> <\/span>in 1995, which sends one book per month to children from the time of their birth until they enter kindergarten.<\/span><\/p>\n

She gave $500,000 in 2006 to Fort Sanders Medical Center for women and children’s health.<\/span><\/p>\n

She has garnered 7 Grammy Awards, 10 Country Music Association Awards, 5 Academy of Country Music Awards, 3 American Music Awards and is one of only five female artists to win the Country Music Association\u2019s Entertainer of the Year Award.
