Photo“Graphic”<\/strong>\u00a0 –\u00a0 it’s part of the word!\u00a0 I was first introduced to that realization by John Shaw, one of the best nature photographers of our era!\u00a0 This morning while on my daily trip around to see what might be the shot of the day, I saw a building framed up under construction.\u00a0 I was almost past it when I noticed that the fresh concrete floor was cover with water and was reflecting the structure.\u00a0 I went down the street and made a U turn and went back to check it out.\u00a0 The dark blue shy with four matching parallel contrails and the graphic quality of the scene was too much to pass up!\u00a0 To add to the drama what I thought was water was actually the re-frozen water from the night before and it was solid ice, even more reflective!<\/span><\/p>\n

Photographic Post-Mortem:\u00a0\u00a0 I decided to use\u00a0 the widest lens I had with me which is one of my very favorites, the Fujifilm XF 14mm f 2.8 R.\u00a0 This lens is tack sharp and has very little distortion, it is small, light and has a clutch focus ring which is great for manual focusing.\u00a0 The image was made on Acros with a Red filter, 1\/5ooth of a second @ f 11 and ISO 400, hand-held.\u00a0 I had the Film Simulation bracket turned on with a Velvia, Provia and Acros with a red filter.\u00a0 Below I am offering the Provia version, and I think it illustrates that the color actually takes away from the graphics of the first shot, what do you think?<\/span><\/p>\n
