This mornings devotional was a wonderful reminder of the vital importance of obedience. \u00a0The scripture below tells a wonderful story of obedience and it’s wonderful result.<\/p>\n

Luke 5:1-7<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n

The First Disciples<\/span><\/h5>\n

\u00a01<\/sup> One day as Jesus was preaching on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, great crowds pressed in on him to listen to the word of God. 2<\/sup> He noticed two empty boats at the water\u2019s edge, for the fishermen had left them and were washing their nets. 3<\/sup>Stepping into one of the boats, Jesus asked Simon,its owner, to push it out into the water. So he sat in the boat and taught the crowds from there.\u00a04<\/sup> When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, \u201cNow go out where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a05<\/sup> \u201cMaster,\u201d Simon replied, \u201cwe worked hard all last night and didn\u2019t catch a thing. But if you say so, I\u2019ll let the nets down again.\u201d 6<\/sup> And this time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear! 7<\/sup> A shout for help brought their partners in the other boat, and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinkin<\/span>g.<\/span><\/p>\n

Simon Peter was tired, he had fished all day, and caught nothing. \u00a0Then this man came along and asked him to let him teach from his boat, even move it further out in the water. \u00a0Peter was busy washing his nets, but he said “Yes”. \u00a0The result is that \u00a0many were fed spiritually. \u00a0Then Jesus turned to Peter and said go back out and lower your nets again. \u00a0Peter was pretty sure this was not such a good idea, after all he had fished all day and has had no success. \u00a0In spite of his doubts, Peter and his crew went back out and cast their nets, again. \u00a0The scripture above reveals the result, they caught so many fish that their nets began to tear.<\/p>\n

What does this have to do with us today? \u00a0If you are in communication with God through prayer and through an active attempt to listen in you spirit for Him, He will speak to you. \u00a0He will reveal what He wants you to do. \u00a0Obedience is nothing more than saying, \u00a0“Yes” when He calls. \u00a0Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes a lot harder, but it never comes back void! \u00a0God has a plan and He wants you to get to be a part of it. \u00a0Could He do it without you? \u00a0Of course, but then you would miss His incredible blessings, and He doesn’t want that to happen.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Listen for His voice, and say “Yes Father!” \u00a0It will lead to incomparable joy and blessings…….<\/p>\n
