Yes, we know that \u201cwe all have knowledge\u201d about this issue. But while knowledge makes us feel important, it is love that strengthens the church. <sup id=\"en-NLT-28489\">2<\/sup> Anyone who claims to know all the answers doesn\u2019t really know very much. <sup id=\"en-NLT-28490\">3<\/sup> But the person who loves God is the one whom God recognizes.<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the early church there was a controversy over eating food offered to idols, not a problem we deal with much today. \u00a0The scripture in Corinthians about the practice does reveal a pivotal principle though! \u00a0Knowledge is important but only love strengthens the church, for \u00a0that matter life. Knowledge is indeed good, but knowledge without the tempering of love is devoid of most of it&#8217;s value. \u00a0Another scripture in Corinthians sets the tone for all of us!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #deb887;\">1 Corinthians 13<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #deb887;\">New Living Translation (NLT)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #deb887;\">\u00a0<sup id=\"en-NLT-28626\">1<\/sup> If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn\u2019t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. <sup id=\"en-NLT-28627\">2<\/sup> If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God\u2019s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn\u2019t love others, I would be nothing. <sup id=\"en-NLT-28628\">3<\/sup>If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it;but if I didn\u2019t love others, I would have gained nothing.<\/span><span style=\"color: #deb887;\">\u00a0<sup id=\"en-NLT-28629\">4<\/sup> Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud <sup id=\"en-NLT-28630\">5<\/sup> or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. <sup id=\"en-NLT-28631\">6<\/sup> It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. <sup id=\"en-NLT-28632\">7<\/sup> Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #deb887;\">\u00a0<sup id=\"en-NLT-28633\">8<\/sup> Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! <sup id=\"en-NLT-28634\">9<\/sup> Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! <sup id=\"en-NLT-28635\">10<\/sup> But when full understanding comes, these partial things will become useless.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #deb887;\">\u00a0<sup id=\"en-NLT-28636\">11<\/sup> When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. <sup id=\"en-NLT-28637\">12<\/sup> Now we see things imperfectly as in a cloudy mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity.
