I may not be around much longer…… \u00a0I made a deal with God, I asked him to let me live long enough to see Kentucky beat Tennessee in football, on Saturday the Wildcats broke a 26 year string of consecutive losses to the Vols! \u00a0What Now???? \u00a0Now I wonder how long I’ve got!! \u00a0Just kidding, but it does bring up a very interesting question for all of us. \u00a0How seriously do you take sports? \u00a0I know, in the past, I’ve been way too serious. \u00a0One night when Kentucky lost to Duke in the NCAA Tournament when Christian Lattner hit a last second shot, I went into the driveway and smashed a water bottle from our water cooler to smithereens. When I returned to the house my wife said, “Can I ask you a question?” \u00a0I said sure, she said, “Who won the NCAA tournament three years ago?” \u00a0I said I didn’t know, she said, “Point made…..” \u00a0 A lot has changed since then, I promise…..<\/p>\n

My wife is a sharp lady and she had made a very good point indeed, I was acting like a child about something that in a few weeks wouldn’t matter. \u00a0Sports can be very enjoyable as long as you don’t make it more serious than it is. \u00a0It’s a game, it’s fun to watch, but when it’s over it’s another day. \u00a0It’s a fault many of us share, we make more of things in life than we should. \u00a0We put a value on things that should not receive that much value. \u00a0We shouldn’t, but, we do. \u00a0 Maybe one of the most important things we do in life is figure out what is worth valuing and what is not. \u00a0Let’s work on a list together, but instead of me telling you what you should value and what you should not, Why don’t I make a list and let you decide. \u00a0Assign the following terms tho the list below, Critical<\/span>, Important<\/span>, Mildly Important<\/span>,\u00a0Not\u00a0Very Important<\/span>, Irrelevant<\/span>. \u00a0Good luck, I know you will do well! \u00a0I have confidence in you!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Who will win the Super Bowl.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Who will be the next President of the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Are you going to be at your son’s soccer game this evening?<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Are you going to trade for a new car?<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Should you buy a new camera?<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Will you get that raise you are hoping for?<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Have you told your wife you love her today?<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n How good of a photographer are you?<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Can you figure out what’s important and what’s not?<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Do you believe in God?<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Have you accepted Jesus as your Savior?<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Starting to get the hang of this. \u00a0It’s really very simple, figure out what truly matters and spend your life doing something about that!!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Love you in Christ,<\/p>\n <\/p>\n the pilgrim<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I may not be around much longer…… \u00a0I made a deal with God, I asked him to let me live long enough to see Kentucky beat Tennessee in football, on Saturday the Wildcats broke a 26 year string of consecutive losses to the Vols! \u00a0What Now???? \u00a0Now I wonder how long I’ve got!!
