As we approach Easter you will see many illustrations of the cross. \u00a0The cross is the central focal point of the life of Christ, it was that final great sacrifice that gives us such hope. \u00a0My pastor, Tim Thompson, delivered a wonderful sermon yesterday about the power of the cross, it was well worth sharing with you.<\/p>\n

The power of the cross;<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1. \u00a0Can Save<\/strong><\/span> a man. \u00a0If we believe and accept Christ Jesus, we can be saved from our sin. \u00a0We can have the promise of eternal life with Him. \u00a0He took on Himself the punishment for our sin, we can be free at last.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

2. \u00a0It can Change<\/strong><\/span> a man. We can me totally changed by the salvation that comes through Christ’s death on the cross and resurrection for us.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

3. \u00a0It can give a man Purpose<\/strong><\/span>. \u00a0When we accept His death for us, we can be renewed in our purpose for living. \u00a0Fully restored to Him we can have a higher purpose in living, one not based on satisfying self, but honoring and serving Him.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

4. \u00a0It can give a man a Destiny<\/strong><\/span>. \u00a0Having a destiny is greater by far than just living out your life. \u00a0It is a defined, guaranteed, purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Cross of Christ splits the world into something, pitiful or powerful, \u00a0something of foolishness or of salvation. It is your decision to make, will your life lead to purpose and destiny or loss and hopelessness? \u00a0You don’t have to be locked out of His blessings!<\/p>\n
