Photography is problem solving and sometimes we get fortunate and find just the right answer to our photographic problems, here are some of my favorites!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1. The Fuji X100s.<\/span><\/strong> \u00a0I’ve looked for years for a camera that was easy to carry, really well made, and produced stunning images. \u00a0I’ve used a lot of cameras that I really liked, but they all were lacking one thing or another. \u00a0The other problem was even the very best ones just didn’t allow me to shoot higher than ISO 800 without pretty bad noises. \u00a0Then I discovered the Fuji X system and the X100s. \u00a0It has become my constant companion, my carry everywhere, shoot anything camera, and the images? \u00a0Stunning +++ \u00a0\u00a0It has also re-ignited my love for Black and White, which it does wonderfully! \u00a0 I got mine at Dury’s Camera in Nashville, I enhanced it with a Wapiti \u00a0Elk skin strap, a Really Right Stuff L bracket and grip, \u00a0(all my cameras have their excellent L brackets), and a Lensmate Thumb rest, and a Lensmate bayonet lens hood. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 http:\/\/www.durys.com\/ \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0http:\/\/www.wapitistraps.com\/ \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0http:\/\/reallyrightstuff.com\/Index.aspx?code=46&key=fr<\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0http:\/\/www.lensmateonline.com\/store\/fujifilm_x100s_thumbrest_silver.php<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

2. \u00a0The Sennheiser MKE 400<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span> \u00a0I don’t shoot very much video, but whenI do this is the “steal” in the portable microphone world. \u00a0At less than $300. it works very well. \u00a0I got mine at the AV house called Sweetwater. \u00a0 \u00a0http:\/\/www.sweetwater.com\/ \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

3. \u00a0Singh Ray Filters.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0My bag has a dozen of these gems. \u00a0Bob Singh is a true genius and his array of filters is amazing. \u00a0His polarizers\u00a0are among the only ones that are completely neutral, so they will not leave a color cast as many do! \u00a0I have a great collection of his great creations \u00a0\u00a0 http:\/\/singh-ray.com\/polarizers.html \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

4. \u00a0Delkin Memory Cards<\/strong><\/span>. \u00a0I’ve used Delkin cards and their other products for years and I’ve never had a bad card! \u00a0If you’ve used a bunch of brands like I have, \u00a0you know just how astounding that is! \u00a0They’re fast and reliable! \u00a0I carry them in a shockproof, waterproof, Pelican case from B&H! \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0http:\/\/delkin.com\/ \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0http:\/\/www.bhphotovideo.com\/bnh\/controller\/home?O=&sku=828755&is=REG&A=details&Q=<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

5. \u00a0Zeiss Lens Wipes.<\/span><\/strong> \u00a0In the eyeglass department of \u00a0Walmarts you will find one of the best solutions to cleaning eyepieces, LCD screens, \u00a0and lenses. \u00a0These wipes are sealed and have just the right amount of alcohol for a perfect clean! \u00a0Not pictured bu a big part of my system are a handful of micro fiber cloths, Ilike the Tiger Cloth from Kinetronics! \u00a0\u00a0http:\/\/kinetronics.com\/store\/tiger.html<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

6. \u00a0The Firefly blower, and Photographic Solutions cleaning supplies.<\/span><\/strong> \u00a0The Firefly blower is a great way to clean dust from sensor, it turns normal air into ionized air that releases dust because of static electricity. \u00a0I use the Photograp \u00a0http:\/\/photosol.com\/hic Solutions E Wipes, swabs, and E2 Sensor Cleaner. \u00a0\u00a0http:\/\/photosol.com\/ \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0http:\/\/www.nrdfirefly.com\/<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a07. \u00a0The Lightning Bug<\/span><\/strong>. \u00a0The best lightning trigger on the market from MK Controls, it’s simple, it really works, and it’s your best bet of capturting spectacular lightning! \u00a0They also have great support, which you will seldom need, well thought out product! \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0http:\/\/mkcontrols.com\/lightningbug\/userguide\/<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

8. \u00a0The Champ Swiss Army Knife from Victorinox.<\/span><\/strong> \u00a0 \u00a0I wouldn’t go in the field without one, I actually own a half dozen various models. \u00a0I’ve made more than a few field repairs with a Swiss Army Knife!! \u00a0http:\/\/www.swissknifeshop.com\/shop\/swiss-army\/victorinox?gclid=CJaMh9OYlLkCFShp7AodpzoAtQ<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

9. \u00a0Wireless Release from Yonguno (China).<\/span><\/strong> \u00a0It works great, looks and feels like some made for them major camera companies and cost about one fifth what you would expect. \u00a0Get used to the world of Chinese goods, they are getting much better! \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0http:\/\/www.hkyongnuo.com\/e-aboutus.php<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

10. \u00a0Raynox \u00a0Macroscopic Lens Model M-150.<\/span><\/strong> \u00a0These 3 element diopter magnifiers, made in Japan, are very high quality ways to shoot greater than life size close-ups. \u00a0 \u00a0The spring loaded filter adapter (much like your squeeze front lens caps), fits from 52mm to 67mm. \u00a0http:\/\/www.raynox.co.jp\/english\/digital\/egdigital.html<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

11. \u00a0Visible Dust Sensor Loupe.<\/span><\/strong> \u00a0This is the best way to see just where that dust is so you can clean it off effectively.Viable Dust make a great variety of cleaning supplies, all top notch!!\u00a0http:\/\/www.visibledust.com\/<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

12. \u00a0Expert Shield.<\/strong><\/span> \u00a0After a few months the plastic protector that came with your camera is mess of scratches and goes in the garbage! \u00a0Save yourself the trouble and install Expert Shield on all your devices, they just work! The best I’ve seen. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0www.expertshield.com<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

13. \u00a0Camels hair small brush.<\/span><\/strong> \u00a0Simple, cleans all the crevasses well! \u00a0\u00a0Pretty simple I got mine at Lowe’s building Supply.<\/p>\n

14. \u00a0LED panel light.<\/span><\/strong> \u00a0These cool, and I mean no heat!, lights are the future, I have two of different sizes and outputs, all the images in this blog entry were made with the smaller one.
