

{"id":8855,"date":"2013-08-27T16:36:04","date_gmt":"2013-08-27T16:36:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/billfortney.com\/?p=8855"},"modified":"2013-08-28T17:33:10","modified_gmt":"2013-08-28T17:33:10","slug":"getting-closer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/billfortney.com\/?p=8855","title":{"rendered":"Getting closer!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/billfortney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Spider.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[8855]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-Blog Post Image wp-image-8856\" title=\"Spider\" src=\"https:\/\/billfortney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Spider-580x412.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"412\" srcset=\"https:\/\/billfortney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Spider-580x412.jpg 580w, https:\/\/billfortney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Spider-150x106.jpg 150w, https:\/\/billfortney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Spider-270x191.jpg 270w, https:\/\/billfortney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Spider-960x682.jpg 960w, https:\/\/billfortney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Spider-600x426.jpg 600w, https:\/\/billfortney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Spider-880x625.jpg 880w, https:\/\/billfortney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Spider-350x248.jpg 350w, https:\/\/billfortney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Spider-400x284.jpg 400w, https:\/\/billfortney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Spider-370x262.jpg 370w, https:\/\/billfortney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Spider-500x355.jpg 500w, https:\/\/billfortney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Spider-703x500.jpg 703w, https:\/\/billfortney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Spider.jpg 1033w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I love to do close-up photographs of almost any subject except spiders! \u00a0I hate spiders, I know God made them for a purpose, but they creep me out! \u00a0If a rattlesnake crawled into my house, I would have no trouble pinning his head and picking up and throwing him out into the woods, where he belongs, but I would&#8217;t touch a spider! \u00a0No, I don&#8217;t handle snakes in church, but I&#8217;ve photographed people that do, o.k. we&#8217;re getting way off point here.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m often asked which micro lens I recommend, and that depends on what you are going to shoot. \u00a0If \u00a0you are photographing any subject that is skittish or that you don&#8217;t want to be close to, the 200mm Micro is the ticket. \u00a0The Spider shot above was made with my Nikon 300mm Micro Nikkor. \u00a0What!!?? \u00a0I didn&#8217;t know Nikon made a 300 mm Micro!!! \u00a0Actually they don&#8217;t, but you can make your 200 micro a 300 micro by using a camera with a DX size sensor, thus the crop factor is 1.5 X the focal length or equivalent to a 300. \u00a0In this case I used and adapter and placed my Fuji X-E1 on the 200mm Micro Nikkor lens and manually focused it. \u00a0(I manually focus all my micro work so loss of autofocus is not an issue for close-up shooting!)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For general purpose work I like the 105 Micro and for flat field documents, coins, and stamps, those kinds of things, the 55 or 60 micro.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So that is how you can get closer with the same lenses. \u00a0How do we get closer to God? \u00a0That is easier than buying and learning micro lenses. \u00a0With our\u00a0Heavenly Father it&#8217;s a lot simpler.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">1. Recognize that you have fallen well short of God&#8217;s desire for you.<\/span><\/strong> That&#8217;s called being a \u00a0sinner, most people don&#8217;t like to be called that, but sadly, we all are.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">2. \u00a0Then we tell our Father that we want to accept His forgiveness<\/span><\/strong>, \u00a0that we are really sorry for what we&#8217;ve done and admit to it.
