I love this place…… I started going there for 2 or 3 days before heading to Ridgway, CO.
Just past the turn off to DHP and Canyonlands is a Shell store and RV Park that has a small white church that was built for a movie as well as a Tepee. I met a guy in Mexican Hat down near Monument Valley that showed me some Milky Way and Light painting photos he took there with the church and tepee that were awesome. He said he just asked permission at the store and they said ok.
Might be worth a try if ya’ll do a sunset outing at DHP or Canyonlands.
I know the place, you’re right, great location!
