Pike’s Market and the X PRO 2!

After the Olympic Fuji Workshop Jack and I spent part of a day in Seattle shooting the sights.  No trip to Seattle is complete without a walk through the Pike’s Market!  It is a fun walk and lot of color and textures to capture.  Above, across the street from Pikes’ Market is Taxi Dogs and while I’m not a street shooter, I enjoyed trying to capture the store front with a customer coming by,  thanks Mam for carrying a red purse!!!!

Lots of interesting things for sale, here are a few of my favorites from the X PRO 2, which I continue to fall deeper in love with!!!!!  It’ such a spontaneous shooting expereince!

Interesting place, interesting subjects!

Blessings,

I just saw on Instagram (fujifilmx_us) that you’ve been shooting with the new 2x. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it versus the 1.4.

Yes I can, now that it is officially released. I have been shooting the 2X converter for a while.

FIRST: It is optically spectacular, the best 2X I’ve ever shot. If you own a 50-140 and don’t want to also carry the 100-400 it gives you a lot of additional reach and works very well. At the long end it gives you a about a 420mm at f 5.6. The 100-400 is larger but at the long end gives you 600mm at f 5.6, if you don’t need that much focal length the 2X and the 50-140 is a much more manage package, size wise.

SECOND: I have personally adopted the 100-400 as my long zoom, leaving the 50-140 at home, (most of the time), and on the 100-400 the 2X is not as useful. I do use the 1.4X on the 100-400 with great results to get a 840mm lens!!!!! The 2 X stretches it out to 1200 mm! which is a lot, and not often needed.

THIRD: If the long “rumored” 200mm f 2 ever comes to pass, it would be spectacular with the 1.4 and 2X converters, giving a 300mm f 2 prime, 450 f 2.8 with the 1.4 X and a 600mm f 4 with the 2 X. Now that would raise some eyebrows!!!!

Hats off to Fuji for continuing to bring High end Pro quality optics to the market!!!!

Thanks for your comments. I always enjoy reading your blog. I have the 100-400, but not the 50-140. It sounds like the 1.4 is probably the better option for me based on your comments and another review I’ve read.
