Bag packing, follow up……

I had a question few days ago about how I pack the gear in the last blog post. The purpose for a two small bag system is portability, and always having the essential gear in the lowest possible weight. The bags provide excellent protection and yet are easy to carry.  The main bag, above weighs in at 7.5 lbs, the lens bag below at  7.4 lbs.  Each lens is held in a Tamrac Goblin lens back and the body wrapped in micro fiber Tiger clothes for Kinetronic.  The main bag is the “speed” bag with fast lenses.  The Lens bag is the zoom bag and the close-up bag, the XF10-24 cover the wide end (15-36), the XF18-135 for the 28-200 range.  The Fujifilm XF90 is a fast 135mm equivalent and with diopters and an extension tube, serves as a macro lens with good working distance.  Of course a spare body and longer glass will reside in a separate backpack.

In addition to those items I have Zeiss photo wipes and some micro fiber cloths.  So there you have it!  Hope that helps answer that question!

Blessings,

    Hi Bill –

On a different topic. I have pre-ordered a X-T2. I was looking at lenses this week as they are currently on sale by Fuji. I am right now listening to a Podcast from a well-know photographer about a Fuji customer service horror story with an X Pro 2. I’m very concerned. Am I making the right decision to go with Fuji? I rented both a X-T1 and a competing micro 4/3 mirrorless manufacturer. There were some definite things I like about the Fuji versus the other manufacturer’s camera but if they make it a hassle to get service I may need to reconsider.

    Thoughts?

Honestly, I’m sure someone has had a bad experience, but in all my time (4 years) with Fuji I have never had anything but really great service. In fact far better than what I’ve come to expect from most other companies.

Let me add, that while I am an X-Photogrpaher, I m under no obligation to promote Fuji, I’ve genuinely been thrilled with all my dealings with them.

Thanks Bill. I appreciate the honest feedback. Looking forward to the X-T2.

I think you will be pleased, I’ve never shot better stuff than since I switched the the X-System!

Steve I sent in a X-E2 that had a stubborn dirt spot on the sensor and I had it back in about a week, maybe 10 days. They replaced the sensor at a reasonable cost. I think that’s pretty good service. I’m also a Canon CPS (Canon Professional Service) member and their service for pro’s is outstanding. But I pay $100 yearly membership for that. I think that Fuji will have a pro service at some point which is also good for the consumer as it make their service process very efficient.
