Last April we were doing this!
This April the Great Smoky Mountains N.P. is CLOSED! You have to be kidding, CLOSED, even th Grand Canyon is closed! Never fear, it won’t be long before we are out in nature doing this again! Hang in there, we will make it!

I had my annual Smokies spring trip reservations made and paid for months ago. In the last three weeks Delta rescheduled the flight five times. But I didn’t let 9/11 stop me and at a time when we need our national parks more than ever I am determined not to let this stop me. Face masks and disinfectant ready for the plane and the Foothills Parkway is open for sunrise. There are other waterfalls and places to shoot in North Carolina where social distancing won’t be an issue. It’ll be a different trip but I still hope to make it.
First Spring I’ve missed in 25 years, maybe more!
I was looking forward to getting down there this spring, but I will have to wait for the flowers to bloom here in NJ to get any thing good to photograph. Planting plenty of wild flowers and just waiting patiently.

I, too, miss photographing the Spring! I am skeptical about being able to travel much this Summer.
Hoping it will be safe for us elderly (late 80’s for me) to make it to the Badlands Workshop this Fall. It is an area that I have not photographed other than quickly passing through on a cross country motor home trip many years ago. This Texaforian (84 years Californian – 3 year Texan) needs to get out of Texas and see the world again.
