Sunrise, Lake McDonald.  Fuji X-E1, 18-55 lens.  F 8 @ 1/20th, ISO 400

Well, finally, today is the day.  Our friends and team are arriving from all over America and meeting in Saint Mary tonight!  I love to tease Jim, that it takes him three hours to drive a ten minute route, with needing to stop every ten feet to make a photo!!!  I love his enthusiasm about territory undiscovered so I figured since the team arrives today at around 1:00 p.m. and it is a 2.5 hour drive to Saint Mary, I should give them about 7 hours to make it!!  The drive up Going To The Sun Highway is not your average drive!

Time Olive, Photography specialist for In Touch Ministries, and I drove to every single location yesterday to check out the conditions, and mark the GPS spots.  I can’t wait to share this great park with our guests!  Here are a few images I made while “working” yesterday.  God is Good!!!

Colored Rocks around McDonald River.  Fuji X-E1 with the 60mm Micro.  F8 @ 1/9th second ISO 400.

McDonald Falls, shot with the Nikon D800 and the 28-300 Nikkor zoom.   F 29 @ 2 seconds. ISO 100

Log in Stream, McDonald River,  Fuji X-E1 with 18-55 zoom,  F 22 @ 1 Second, ISO 400.

Erosion patterns in rocks along McDonald River, Nikon D800, 28-300 Nikkor lens.  F 22 @ 1/4 second, ISO 200.

Pine Needles turning.  Nikon D800, 28-300.  F 11 @ 1/60th at ISO 1600

Lower McDonald Falls.  Nikon D800.  28-300 Nikkor zoom, f 32 @ 10 seconds, ISO 100

Much more to come!!!!!

Blessings,

Great images, have a fall Landscape workshop on the 9th Oct. Can’t wait to help others get photos like this.

  2. Seven hours is not enough for Jim. There are seven days or maybe seven weeks worth of shooting opportunities between the west entrance and Saint Mary. I’m looking forward to see what you and your team get this week. Have a great time and

    Enjoy God’s Creation

    Beautiful images Bill.

  4. Bill –

You should probably check your RSS feed — something is inserting text & links (that don’t show up here on the site) that aren’t really consistent with the family values typically promoted here, if you catch my drift.

I’m not sure what software you’re using to run the site, but my guess is maybe there’s a rogue plugin or something along those lines. Email me if you want more detail.
