Seeing the light…..

Jack and I spent most of today scouting and getting ready for the attendees who will arrive Wednesday afternoon!  We found a beautiful little church and were enjoying working it when a nice Amish lady walked by on the road, when she got into th distance Jack yelled, you have to see this, he was right,  I sure did!!!!!  What an opportunity!  It was a good morning with lots of opportunities.

And one last one, my good friend Bill Pekala, he and I send these “faces in the scene”  back and forth, here is my latest one for  you buddy!

Well that’s it for today, I will try to post some images each day!!!

Blessings,

the pilgrim

Photo Note:  Fuji X-E1 and 55-200 lens.

  1. Love the light on the first one – so incredible. And I love that face in the last photo. Wish I could be there – I know it will be an incredible time of shooting photos. So appreciate you Bill and the ministry God has given you. To God be the glory!!

    Hi Bill:
“Morning light with Amish lady walking” = wonderful capture of another exceptional God Moment.

    Questions:
    * For pix you post in your blogs (like these), with the exception of cropping, to what extent, if any, do you apply any post processing?
    * I’m considering the Fuji X100S. For a given scene or subject what’s your rule(s) of thumb(s) on when one should use the X100S over the ICL XE-1?

Thanks for continuing to inspire us photographically and spiritually.

Thanks Danny it was certainly that a God moment!!!
I usually do levels, maybe some saturation to increase the color, and sharpen. the God beams got a little burning to bring them out and I almost always use Niko Color Efex 4.0 ” Light Center Dark Edges”

I love the X100s as a carry around camera, it does it all but your are limited to a 35mm f2, which works more often than you might think. The X-E1 is better when I take more time on the tripod and want to switch lenses, but I carry and use both a lot. I use the Nikon D800 when I need more specialized lenses and need extreme resolution. I love them all!!!! If I was going on a trip and wanted to carry almost nothing I would have no problem taking the X100s.

You may want to check out Hale Farm and Village in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The Park is still open and accessable even with the Gov’t shut down.

Looks like Holmes Co. Ohio. I was there a few years ago. Not sure exactly where I was, but I was on that road. Interesting that your perspective was completely different. Great shots.
