Chasing shadows…….
Man walking on beach in early morning light, with tractor track’s shadows.
When I travel, I’m always on assignment, not not for some prestigious magazine or publishing firm, but for myself! Today working assignments are only a fraction of what they once were, the publishing industry as a whole, is much smaller and different than in the 70’s through the 90’s. Today getting and assignment is much more rare. When I travel I give myself an assignment, for the purpose of keeping sharp, and continuing to work on the visual aspect of being a photographer. I’m not a beach person, but my wife sure is, and I love taking her to a place she can relax and rest, so I catch as catch can, on shooting. This morning, sitting on the balcony, I gave myself the assignment of finding, interesting shadows. You can judge how I did!
Shadows of the high rise hotels along the beach in Marco Island, Florida
Couple walking on the beach walkway near my hotel.
Thatch roof cabanas on the beach.
Couple walking on the beach with long shadow.
Well, that is my morning effort to catch some light and shadow! They may not be Pulitzer winners, but they are keeping me in practice!
Blessings,
the pilgrim
