Are You Happy, Happy, Happy?

Well, I’m not!  For all those pin heads out there, that are running in circles “debating what does all this mean???!!!!”  Please allow me try to explain it to you.

In keeping with the blessed Christmas Season, let’s put it in Christian terms.  First if you are not a Christian, have never read the Bible, or not heard over five sermons in your life, you may want to stop now.  If you don’t stop now you are going to end up either, confused, angry, or irate, and in this season of joy I would not want any of that for you, so please skiddadle.  Trust me, you won’t understand, or may be unwilling to accept what I have to say.

Just the believers? or those open minded enough to “really” think about what I have to offer?  Good, shall we proceed?  Christmas is the celebration of the birth of “The” Christ, Jesus the Messiah,  the Holy Son of God, the Savior, the preeminent, most important person in history.  He came to this world so that we could all be forgiven for our sins if we would accept it.

What sins?

Romans says, “We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”  Wait a minute it says all!?  Yes it does, according to God, we are all sinners.  What are sins?  Any act or thought that is in conflict with God.  Want some examples?  Stealing, adultery, coveting, not honoring your father and mother, cheating, telling lies, hurting others, murder, blaspheming God’s name, lusting after the possessions of another, physical relations with your same sex.  Like me to go on, it’s a very long list?   Now Jesus once said that “it is as much a sin to look upon a woman with lust in your heart as to commit an act with her.”  It was his answer to a question about what sins are the greatest.  He made it clear that all sin is sin, he did not offer to set up a scale, no one sin is greater than another, except for rejecting God.

So the important question is; have you never committed even a single sin?  I’m gong to take that silence as a no.  O.K. so if you have committed one or more sins, you are a sinner, doesn’t matter if it was stealing, cheating, telling a lie, or taking part in an immoral act.  Now my understanding is that Phil, in the interview that started all this mess, answered a question that homosexuality was a sin.  He also said it was not his job to judge, that it was God’s.  He further said his job was to offer God’s love and forgiveness.  He is absolutely correct.  You can be forgiven for any sin, if you stop committing it, repent, and ask God for His forgiveness. I’m failing to see what he did that was wrong?!

The problem is that some groups of people that represent supporters for certain sins don’t want to be told that they are sinning. Let’s say that I’m a thief, I steal things that don’t belong to me. Let’s further assume that someone points out that I am committing a sin, that of thievery.  But let’s further assume that I say,  “well I like to steal, and it’s nobodies business what I do when no one is looking!”  In addition to that, “it hurts my feelings and makes me feel bad when someone says I’m committing a sin!  I want you to stop, I demand you stop!!!!”  But what if I don’t stop, what if I continue to say that according to my faith, stealing is a sin.  If I were asked if I thought if it was a sin to steal and I said no, to save your feelings, then I would have lied, another sin, because my faith teaches that it is a sin to steal and also to lie.  What if my employer says if you are going to say things that hurt people’s feelings we are going to fire you from your job.  So my employer is saying,  A. you cannot work for us and say things that hurt others even if it is true or according to your faith, or  B.  In America we have freedom of speech accept for certain protected classes of people, like thieves.  or C.  We don’t believe in god, and we don’t believe his “so called” laws should have anything to do with behavior at this time in our history.

Take your choice folks, either there is a God and His Word matters, or there is not.  But as the old knight said in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, “Choose wisely!”

Merry Christmas, and may we all be forgiven,

the pilgrim

Hi, I noticed in the cold calelrs list for September, a company called Madrigal but no information relating to it. Has anyone else been contacted by them? We have had a series of phone calls telling us that we are guaranteed our money back as reclaim have gone into liquidation! Just when you thought you had heard it all, now, apparantly we should have an NIF number which will allow us to be paid out! This information is supposed to be contained in the terms and conditions on the reverse of the voucher. Can’t understand this as the same terms and conditions state that any disputes will be governed by gibralter law.Anyone else been called by them and if so what happened?ThanksMaggie

This whole issue is really rooted in the fact that the world hates the gospel. Yes, Jesus said “they will hate you because they hate me”. There is so much gospel in this show these groups had to literally set up a situation to try and stop it, and I would bet they think they have but they don’t realize who they are messin’ with. It ain’t Bro Phil, it is the Almighty God of this universe, the very one that came out of eternity past to live in this nasty world to live a life that we couldn’t and die to pay a debt that we could not pay! They can shut up man but they can’t stop the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I suggest they stop for a moment and consider that there is a God, he loves them despite their sin, and paid the price for our forgiveness but they must be willing to accept that gift on His terms. No PC, no hurt feelings just submission and acceptance. If they do this they will discover a life that they never thought could exist.

    Love You Brother

    Steve

Magnificent post, very informative. I wodner why the opposite experts of this sector do not understand this. You should continue your writing. I’m confident, you have a huge readers’ base already!|What’s Happening i’m new to this, I stumbled upon this I have discovered It absolutely helpful and it has helped me out loads. I hope to give a contribution & assist different customers like its helped me. Great job.

  8. Well said Bill. Putting this in terms of stealing is a powerful illustration. Many will not understand it, as you said. I find that in some cases people don’t want to understand anything that challenges their world view or they understand but won’t admit it because it conflicts with their earthly desires.

God may turn this situation around and use it as a powerful message that is spread farther than they television show could ever do. He has a way of doing things like that.

Blessings to you and your family this Christmas.

Same to you Richard! I watched some of the talk shows on various networks tonight and one thing rang clear, 90% of the media, both conservative and liberal are petrified of the powerful gay/lesbian organizations. They really have accomplished their desire to shut down any meaningful dialogue. They have couched the whole debate down to their position, and hate mongers (anyone opposed to their views). It is sad to see what our country is being reduced to.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It rellay is special to see the holidays through the eyes of children – what a blessing in its self. But then again, it is a blessing to have the few extra days off to rest from all those little blessings. God bless you Debbie, you are a blessing to so many; I count you as a precious blessing to me.

Excellent example Bill, may GOD use this to for his glory. Pray you and yours are doing well and have a Merry Christmas.

MY respect for Phil is in the fact that he lives what he believes, even though his belief about homosexuality differs with mine. For me, it is a question of LOVE, and while my support of the LBGT community differs from Phil’s, I never saw his words as judging folks. He has the right to freedom of speech, freedom of religion and he walks the walk and talks the talk. GQ magazine and the press are always looking to create scandal and sensationalize controversial topics by ‘reporting the news’, gag me with a fork, when in fact they are just prostitutes (no offense to prostitutes) of journalism and will put a negative spin on whatever they can, looking to sell magazines, newspapers, etc. Jesus healed Mary Magdalene and she was the first person to witness the resurrection, a world-changing event. Much of what I see of the ‘public eye’ disgusts me, but when did we become a society where we have to hide who we are? I am the same person on the phone, online, in public, or sitting in Mass. I have tried to live my life with the ‘What Would Jesus Do’ philosophy…Loving the sinner but denouncing the sin. The exact words ‘this too shall pass’ is not found in the Bible, however, the verse in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 talks about things being temporary. It is talking about the suffering that you might be going through. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers during this season of hope. Peace Be With You!

We also had a phone call from this company (Paul Davenport) in October, stnatig they had sold our timeshare ( as we had been on line looking to sell), and needed a security of a31800 to be taken from our credit card, and upon completion ( when the deeds were collected from us) it would be refunded, they sent us a contract to sign for the sale. As we did not hear from them we contacted them in December to find out when the deal would be closed. Surprise surprise they advised us that the purchaser had pulled out, and a company under their umbrella would be contacting us today re this sale. To sum up we have a amount outstanding of a31800 which they will now hold until our timeshare is sold, which could be anything from 1 month to 12 months. Any advice please.
