If you ever wondered where Tow-Mater’s long lost brother might be, well he’s right in Corbin at Wallen’s Wrecker Service!  Yep Tow-Chuck is right here!   If you ever saw the Pixar film Cars you’re fully aware of the lovable wrecker and best friend to  Lighten McQueen!  I really enjoyed the film and I’m sucker for Tow-Mater!

Photography Post Mortem:  Shot with the X-T5 with the 70-300 at 300mm 1/250th @ f 5 same for the door shot of Tow-Chuck.

I hope this brought at least a little smile to your face!

Well, since as of today I’m truly a fossil, yes it is my birthday, as of 6:00 a.m. this morning, I’m 77 years old, glad to get that out of the way.  I hardly remember how I felt a year ago, but 77 seems pretty scary.  Sherelene reminds me, “It’s just a number!”  ….and I tell her, “Yes but it’s a really BIG number!”  O.K. let’s get over it Bill!  God has a plan and I’m just glad to be in it!

Photography Post Mortem:  Since we are celebrating old things today I decided to make today’s image with  retro camera.  I went back to the camera that started it all for me and my love affair with Fujifilm.  The shot was made with the Fujifilm X-10, shot at 1/2 second and f 9. Provia film simulation.

Forgive my for making this about myself, but then it is my blog!  ….and thanks for helping get though this day!

Today I’m treating you to a Daily Double!  When I arrived at the Chamber of Commerce building the sun was hitting the back of the red and yellow caboose!  Had to shoot it, but then it went overcast and the side of the train gears were too much to pass up!  Once again my attempt at a “Maisel ” shot.  I’m not kidding myself, only Jay is the real Maisel!

Photography Post-Mortem:  Shot with the X-T5 and XF 90mm f 2 R L WR @ f 5.6 and 1/190th of a second.  ISO 1,600.  Because this is a continuous tone subject a little noise was apparent, but Topaz Noise AI.  The Caboose shot was with the X-T5 16-80 zoom at F8 1/1,000 of a second ISO 800.

I really like how well Acros with a red filter, renders with the benefit of the 40 mega pixels in the X-T5!

Over the Christmas holidays my family did a 1,000 piece puzzle.  They do one very Christmas and this year’s was a a scene I love.  Because we have Chester, we love Golden Receiver stuff, so this morning I decided that a shot of the puzzle, in square format, might be fun.  Plus I’m baby sitting Chester today and this kept me from having to go out for the shot of the day.  A neat scene with the puzzle cuts in it has great appeal to me!

Photography Post-Mortem:  With the X-T5 on a tripod, I shot this with the Fujifilm XF 23mm f 2 lens @ f 8 and 1.3 seconds at ISO 200.

Simple pleasures are some of God’s greatest gifts, whether a puzzle or day hanging with my best buddy, Chester!
