It has been a  hope of mine for along time to do a workshop with Joe!  He is not only one of the greatest shooters out there today, he and his wife Anne are terrific people, that group is going to get a double barrel of fun and fellowship!

Bill, you’re making life wonderful and difficult at the same time. I’ve already signed up for Roanoke and you’ve added another great train location, Cass. Now I have to work out how to attend both. I’m glad my wife is very understanding and tolerant of her train-crazy husband. To hijack a movie phrase, I love the smell of coal smoke, hot oil, and steam in the morning.

If I include Law’s Train Museum, that’s three diverse rail theme related workshops. And with you, Joe, Annie, and Jim, the Bodie Ghost Town workshop will be fabulous. All the workshops will be fabulous. A great time will be had by all.

I truly believe you’re right! I dearly love Joe and Anne, was sitting Ina booth in a diner, I believe the first time they were together! They are truly wonderful friends! Bill Pekala wasa near life long friend before he became my boss at Nikon, now we have the pleasure of returning to just a great friendship, and what can I say about Jim, one of the best friends ever! I know those are all great locations, but I just keep thinking of how much fun we’ll have. Finally Fred Sisson at Roanoke! Fred is the reason I became a photographer!

  2. […] Click here to visit Bill’s site for all the glorious details. Give this new workshop some serious consideration (but don’t wait too long; spots are going to fill up quickly on this one). And … and there is another new workshop that Bill and Jim Begley have put together. It is in the incredible steam engine town of Cass, W. Va. If you love trains … heck, if you just like trains … hey, if you just love the chance for beautiful scenery and shots you won’t find anywhere else, Cass is the place to give it your best shot. I don’t know how Bill finds the time, but I am so very glad that he is able to. […]

  3. Bill, I am a missionary in Guatemala but from West Virginia. I have been to Cass many times and so wish I could be part of the project there, but too much happening here.
Try to get an invite inside the superintendent/chief rangers house. If it is still standing and the government has kept its hands off there is a ceiling in the living room/dining room??? that to glance at it is blah sort of red/pink. But look closely. It is done of the red spruce harvested off those mountains. See if you can see how wide the boards were. You will be impressed.
