Just when……..
Just when I talk myself into believing I can live without a D800, I have a shooting day like this! I continue to be amazed just how wonderful this camera is when you use it with great care!! Here is some of my best take from the SE Train Museum yesterday. Some are HDR some single shots. The web doesn’t do justice to how rich these files are with “extreme detail.”
This is why this camera is so amazing, look at this crop below out of this file above!

Well, I am so jealous, not only of the location but some fantastic shots and processing work. Being a railroad kind of guy ( 39 years ) I can’t wait to get over there while we are at the Old Car City event. Great find.
R.C. was loosing his mind here and got there only one hour before closing time! We are going to have a great time here, wish you could have been on this trip, but then duty calls!

I work for CSX Transportation as a mechanical locomotive training instructor and do volunteer work at the Southeastern Railway Museum.
I also enjoy photography and your website has inspired me in many ways, spiritually and photographically.
I have been doing more HDR of late and the old rail equipment just lends itself so well to that method.
I have the Nikon D7000 and love it. I may graduate to a D600 or D800 some day.
