After 9 + days out in the north country, I’m tired, and smiling! Yes we had a great workshop and we all got some wonderful images, but that is not what is making smile the most! I got an email today from one of the attendees expressing their thoughts, I’m not going to identify the person, I but do want to share some of what they had to say;
I just wanted to send you a note to thank you once again for the wonderful experience you and your team provided.
In May I lost my Father, he had a heart attack while planting flowers in his back yard. I had just talked to him 30 minutes before to tell him I was on my way over. He was gone when I pulled into the driveway.
Roughly six weeks later my grandmother, Dad’s mother passed away. She was in her late 80s and I think it was too much for her. So, my family was headed to another funeral and saying goodbye once again. My grandmother was a huge fan of Charles Stanley – I had told her I would try to get his autograph for her. I am sure she was pleased I was able to meet him.
Since May I had hardly touched my camera, staying busy with work and helping my mother. I really had not taken any time for myself until this past week.
Between the landscapes, the fellowship, hearing Charles speak and just being away I felt the most joy I’ve felt in years. It was the first time in months that I wasn’t struggling to cope. I desperately needed your workshop at the time that it came – I have no doubt that was part of God’s plan.
Thank you so much – it was an experience of a lifetime.
Jim, Snake, Chuck, and I love to make great images, share our love for photography, and experience amazing places like Glacier, but knowing that God used us to reach out and love someone with His love, and make a difference, that is what we started His Light for in the first place!!! I think what a privilege it is to have fun doing workshop, and know that God can use it for blessing His children. Even though we stood above 6,000 feet to shoot some scenes, this is the highest I’ve felt since my plane landed in Kalispell! Thanks for being willing to share that with me!
Blessings,
the pilgrim
Photo Note: top image Fuji X100s with with a built in software filter to allow jus tone color to record while making the rest of the image a Black and White, really cool! Bottom Fuji X-E1.
Tomorrow I’m headed to the Badlands, for the rest of this week, I hope to share some new work from there with you for the rest of the week!!!
