The book is live at the eBook store now!  We caught a break and got things done earlier than expected!  Please feel free to check it out!!  I think Fuji Users will love it, it covers a lot of ground!I had a call from a friend the other day and he asked why so many books so fast!  I’m glad he asked, and I would like to share that with you too!  It’s a big joke with Scott Kelby, he always introduces me as “A man barely alive!”  That came from when we first met and I spoke often about my mortality and Scott, loved teasing me about my penchant for the uncertainty of the end of life!  My father passed away at age 66, and I guess for many years I thought I wouldn’t last much longer than that, you know, heredity and all of that.  Well I’m 68 and will turn 69 in February, I guess I beat the first hurdle! Don’t get me wrong,  I’m not afraid of dying, I know where I will  be when the time comes, and since I’ve survived cancer twice.  No, I’m not afraid for this life on earth to end, but I don’t want to leave anything I meant to do, undone!

I’ve spent a lifetime learning everything I can about the craft of photography, and I just want to get as much of it down on paper, or as it would be a computer file!  I love to teach and share, and for anyone interested I plan to keep cranking them out!

Next up is the Americana Photography, Step -By-Step Guide!  It should be in the eBook store by Friday of next week.  It is 179 pages.  It not only explains how to approach American Photography but has countless illustration of different kinds of Americana Subject matter!  When you get one of the new books if you email me a quote about it and we use it in a blog or on the store, I would love to give you a free book from the store!

Fuji says the official ship date for the 50-140 OIS WR f 2.8 is Thursday the 4th!  That’s tomorrow!  I have mine ordered and paid for so I hope to review it in a few days.  The reviews that are leaking out are pretty amazing.  Bjorn Moerman, who is a guest in my new Fuji X-System Users Guide out Friday the 5th,  had one and shared some images and a wonderful review on Fuji Rumors.  The shot above and page from the user’s guide are courtesy of Bjorn!  I’m really excited about the release of the new book, it turned out to be a massive project ending up over 200 pages!

The book will be available at the eBook store on Friday a.m.  I think it is a very comprehensive look a the system.  I’m sharing some selected pages so you can see what kinds of things are covered!

Can’t wait!

My pastor preached a sermon on Sunday about giving.  As we enter the season of giving, I have put a lot of thought into that sentence!  Let me approach it from a spiritual perspective.  I think there are basically two kinds of people, those that care about others, and those that don’t.  That may seem harsh and judgmental, but we have all seen and known people that truly think of others almost all the time,  and and others that seem to seldom consider anyone but themselves.  Those that truly have little concern for anyone else are some of the poorest people I know.  The richest people I know have invested themselves fully in others.

So what does this have to do with giving gifts?  The greatest gift we have to give is love, which is concern, and which is compassion and grace.  After all those are the greatest gifts our Heavenly Father has given to us.  Christmas is the celebration of God’s love for us.  He loved us so much that He sent His only Son to teach us, and then die for us, that we might be forgiven and saved!

I used to wristband that has the initials WWJD, (What Would Jesus Do?)  We we don’t have to ask because we know what He did!  He spent His entire life on earth reaching out to those that needed what He had to offer.  A redeeming love.

Whatever else you give those you love, and care about for Christmas, give them the best gift mankind ever received.  Love.  For those that don’t seem to care, love them with an extra measure of love, that is how Jesus won their hearts.
