We’ve Lost a Legend!
I received word this week from Len Rue Jr. that his father Leonard Lee Rue III died November 4th at 96 years of age. Lenny was an amazing wildlife photographer, the most published in history with over a million photo credits to his name. He once had 5 magazine covers on the same day! No one will ever equal his records as a wildlife shooter. He was a also a scholar on the White Tail deer.
More than all of that Lenny was a wonderful man, a dedicated Christian and one of the most interesting characters I’ve ever met in my 50 plus years in the field. A prolific author, photographer, lecturer and naturalist he is survived by his wife Ursula, three sons, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a brother and sister.
I know he is at real peace with his Heavenly Father, God Speed my friend, God Speed!
Blessings,
the pilgrim

An icon. I remember the kindness he extended me in my first trip to Denali many years ago.
Yes, he was a great guy!
Very nice blog. To bad so many young people will never know of him and his contributions.
Yes, that’s a shame, he deserves to be remembered well!!
