Day 1: Winter Project

Sherelene and I were married on February 14th, 1970.  A few years ago my brother Homer and his wife Terri got this sign for us as a Christmas gift.  It has hung on our kitchen wall ever since!  I love it because it was from my brother and sister-in-law, but even more because it is one of the essential truths of life!  I subscribe to the philosophy of “always being thankful”.  If you spend your time thanking the Good Lord for the blessings of your life, you will soon realize that you, “Have It All!”

As we approach the holiday of Thanksgiving it would be a great time to adopt that attitude!  I can assure you that that adoption will change your life for the better!

Blessings,

You post strikes a chord with me tonight. Many of us do truly have it all. Some of us are fortunate enough to realize what we have and are able to share our time and talents with others. Tonight I’m not home but out trying to help people recover from hurricane Helene. Instead of watching football this weekend, I’m working on proposals to get good water restored in western North Carolina. Tonight I got a few hours catch up on email and some blogs. And to reflect. I see how much I have and much hurricane Helene took from so many. The resilience of so many in the communities I have been through and the charity I have seen within those communities have been heartwarming and inspiring. Next weekend I’ll be heading home after a month. I’ve volunteered to return before Thanksgiving for another month to see the unfinished work through to completion. It is my small contribution to help others regain some of what they lost.

Amen…fortunate you both understood and endured the hard work needed to keep real self giving love alive!
