What a great three weeks, and I’m glad they are over!!!  I can’t wait to see my wife, my family, and get a little time in my own bed!!!!  Having said that, it was great be with so many fantastic people, in Peoria, Nelson, and Arches!  I love teaching with Jack and we had a great time.  The image above was made by Mike Roberts, and it was sone of my favorites rom the three weeks1, it captures a famous scene in a unique way!

I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all th great folks that made this such a great trip! Next up two straight weekends with Jim Begley and His Light, just gets better and better!!!!

Standing in the pitch dark of Arches National Park seeing the faint outline of Balanced Rock, and the glorious Milky Way over head, who could doubt a Master Creator!  Then I look at the life He has given me is the finishing touch!

The group arrived last night and I think this is a great bunch of folks!  Jack and I and Dudley Hawthorne have scouted for a couple of days and I think we are ready!  I went out to Dead Horse Point yesterday and finally found the “the tree” thanks to the help of Jim Begley,  It was not in great light, I will try again later but  this was yesterday’s stab at shooting anything like as good as Jim’s image!

We stopped  by the lower Delicate Arch, Sunrise locations and found a lot of folks on the ridge for silhouettes.

We are headed out to Mesa Arch in Canyonlands this morning, it will be around 30 degrees!!!!  I will share our results later!  Wish you were  here!  Wish I was in bed, under the covers!!!!

Jack and I made it to Moab today, after a stop in Capital Reef.  I never got to share some of the other images from Nelson, and we have not started shooting here yet,  so, here goes on some of the other images I wanted to share!  The shot above is with the 50-140 and a new processing technique Richard Small shared with us, I’m using it on several images here.

The following images were shot and processed in a  conventional way.

And finally we did some light painting which is always a lot of fun!

You need to make a trip out to Nelson when you can!
