Peace……….

Driving home today from White, Georgia, I heard the words of a song over and over, it reminded me of just what incredible peace I’m enjoying in my walk with Him.  Let me share the words from Kenny Rogers song, Peace;

I have come from so far away
Down the road of my own mistakes
In the hope you could hear me pray
Oh, Lord keep me in your reach

How I’ve longed through these wasted years
To outrun all the pain and fear
Turned to stone from my uncried tears
And now it’s Your grace I seek

Love won’t compromise
It’s a gift, it’s a sacrifice
My soul renewed and my heart released
In You I’ll find my peace

Oh wondrous child of whom the angels sing
Know my joy, feel my suffering
Shining star make this love you bring
So bright that I may believe

That my way will not be lost
From now on, ’til that river’s crossed
My soul renewed, my spirit free
In You I’ll find my peace

In You I will find my peace, how liberating it is to know that He is there, that He loves us with a love that passes our understanding.  In spite of all the train wrecks in my life, He was there with His arms spread wide to accept me, an undeserving sinner, lost, alone, crushed by the world, yet He was always there, He was always waiting.  We have such a hard time believing that anyone could believe in us, and love us that much, after all we often don’t love ourselves.  His love can overcome even our lack of faith in ourselves. He loves us that much, and more…..

I want to encourage you to spend some time alone and think about just how much He has given you.  Take time in this season to praise and honor Him.  If by chance you come here and still don’t know Him, if you have not asked Him to come into your heart, what a wondrous time it would be to meet  Him, face to face!   Imagine celebrating your “first” real Christmas in the knowledge that the baby that was born in Bethlehem, was born for you. May the Peace and Joy that is Christmas fill your heart………

In Him,

the pilgrim

    Hi Bill,

You’re right on the money. The only thing we really have going for us is that we’re able to have confidence that God is in control and is confidently using our circumstances to make us into something that is “to the praise of His Glory” in Eternity. In the meantime, as we have trusted Him, He loves us, strengthens us, cares for us, gives us direction, hope, gives us really wonderful values, is able to keep us from falling, brings restoration and healing to our spirit when we do stumble, courage, compunction and compulsion to guard us and keep us from repeating the same sins over and over again, and on top of this He will never leave us or forsake us ever. What a wonderful Saviour!

By the way, here are a few photos I did some years back at a place called the Errickson Ranch a little ways away from here. Most of the rusty vehicles are trucks or tractors. I wasn’t well on the day we went. Perhaps some day we could go out there together and do a decent job of it.
