Making beautiful music…..

I leave Las Vegas tomorrow headed to Southwestern Photojournalism in Fort Worth.  I usually leave these shows wondering what I’m still doing this for!!??  Not tonight.  Today I had a very meaningful conversation with a man whose photography I greatly admire, after getting to know the man behind the camera, I admire the ” man”, even more!  We have both experienced a similar physical fate, cancer.  As we talked we agreed that we both have walked away from it, thankfully, with a new lease on life and better understanding of why we are here!  The other day on my way to the airport to start this trip, Jim Haverstock, my dear brother in the Lord, shared with me that while he hated I couldn’t retire this year, that he could see my still being at Nikon, was opening important doors to serve Him, it was a prophecy.  The last few days I’ve known that to be true, and it has been confirmed by several deeply touching conversations with people I have long prayed for.  The miracles that are happening in their lives renews my deep belief that God is holding on to us with a firm grasp.  I’ve see marriages healed, people draw closer to an understanding of their soon coming meeting with our Heavenly Father, and friends that are coming to grips with a bigger role in this world than just taking care of ourselves. Jeremy Cowart came over to share how the class he had just done was about giving back what God has blessed us with, moments later I received an excited text that our dear brother Dave Black has just shared a powerful testimony on The Grid!

I got to reaffirm my love for a dear couple I know that have seen a miracle in their marriage and shared a story of God’s greatness!  Wow, do you want me to go on????  O.K.  I’ve been in prayer for my friends that are coming to White, Ga for our His Light Workshop and I’m bursting with anticipation, God is really up to something, I believe in, and am expecting even more miracles!  It is the sweetest music to hear when my Father is at work in our world, changing the lives of people, opening our eyes to how much more we can be than the very little we have expected of our selves.  Please pray that my time in Fort Worth will be another bountiful harvest of praise, and souls for Him.  I serve at His pleasure, and He has rewarded me with getting to see His wonderful power, majesty, grace, love, and concern for us. When my jet takes off tomorrow I will have already been flying high for hours!

Tonight’s Prayer:  Dear Heavenly Father, thank you so much for letting me be a part of what you’re doing in the lives of so many people I love.   Thank you that You have proven that just when we think things are beyond all hope, that’s when you bring hope, peace, and your undying, saving, Love.  Tonight I recommit my heart, mind, and soul to serving you, and you alone.  Thank you Father for loving me, and accepting me as your child, while undeserved, cherished!    Until I’m standing there looking in Your eyes, I will serve You!    Amen and Amen.

Thanks for such an uplifting read as I start my morning… You may not remember me as we met at Kelby’s in RC’s office and you took some time to chat with and share your work with myself and a visiting cousin. I was blessed to be able to personally see Dave Black’s testimony yesterday at Kelby’s on The Grid and it was uplifting, refreshing and wonderful to see him talk so openly about his faith and direction in life God has led him. Now as I prepare to head to work on the down hill slide of a very long week its refreshing to once again be inspired by another legend and admired great with a wonderful story of his faith… Keep flying high and hope you have a wonderful and as always blessed day! 🙂

You gotta love it when you see God’s plans revealed in your life and the lives of those around you. Safe travels, and remember, Texas has great burgers…

Thank you Bill and an honor that you remember… Love and am a fan of your work and hope to one day in the near future attend one of your landscape workshops. If you and RC ever get the one off the ground and announced that you talked about in his office I might just have to seriously see about the time off from work to make it to that one! 🙂 You’ll enjoy Dave on The Grid as he’s another one I could listen to talk for hours on end! 🙂

Bill – thanks for such an inspiring message. I am not a pro photographer, actually do something completely different for a living. I get discouraged at times about why I do what I do and whether or not I am positively impacting anyone. Thanks to the support of Lord and a very loving (and faith-filled) wife, I believe I am (at least some days). I have been surrounded by cancer myself and have a familial gene defect that (left untreated), would lead to colon cancer. Thank God for some great doctors and some truly amazing procedures they have developed, I and my kids can likely live a relatively normal (and long) life. Praise God for that too.

Thanks for you message, and for your witness!

Got a chance to share at our local PRC last night.

These dear women who’ve been torn by understanding the horrible choice they made to abort the child in their womb, been brought to the feet of Jesus, and now are dealing with their grief. How sweet to see The Lord, compassionate and loving, who will never leave or fiske them, folding them in his arms and draining them of self-hatred, giving them a mission in life, and the tears that come from the knowledge of sins forgiven.

Their new mission? Not only to go on with a life serving God, but to protect, nurture, and admonish their own children, as well as all the parents, prospective parents and children they come across. God has given us life, we must protect it. God has given us forgiveness, we must accept and proclaim it. God has given us a healing balm and the ability to look past the pain, to enter into joy. We must share it.

Our local PRC is right next to the offices of Planned Parenthood.

Trish and I were greatly blessed last night Bill. God Bless you and everyone who reads your blog.
