If you’re ever in Jacksonville and are hankering for a good burger I can highly recommend a new chain called Burger Fi. I went with Sherelene and My son Scott and daughter in law Diane to try them tonight and it was a smashing success. 5 Pickles!!!! K.J. Matthews cooked up a superb burger for us and the manager Ben Nyssen took extra good care of us as well. This burger joint has great fries, onion rings and I will go back again soon and checkout some of the other menu items!
It is rare to find a 5 Pickle burger but this one was worth every pickle! They are located at 108 Riverside Ave. in Jacksonville, Florida.

After the Olympic Fuji Workshop Jack and I spent part of a day in Seattle shooting the sights. No trip to Seattle is complete without a walk through the Pike’s Market! It is a fun walk and lot of color and textures to capture. Above, across the street from Pikes’ Market is Taxi Dogs and while I’m not a street shooter, I enjoyed trying to capture the store front with a customer coming by, thanks Mam for carrying a red purse!!!!
Lots of interesting things for sale, here are a few of my favorites from the X PRO 2, which I continue to fall deeper in love with!!!!! It’ such a spontaneous shooting expereince!

I was struck this past week as I walked the trails of Olympic National Park and found a world of beauty beyond compare down to the tiniest detail! Focusing on the minute part of the creation once again revealed to me the awesome power of our God! As I rested this morning with Sherelene and we listened to our daily devotional from In Touch Ministires it was the very lesson I needed to put together the thoughts of this past week!
Phillippians 4:11-13
11 Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am.
12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.
13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
Success is often hard to define. Our human eyes see it in the financial gain of a businessman, the fame of a celebrity, and the exceptional ability of an athlete. In any field, we generally equate success with fame, money, and power.
If these were truly the way to measure, then we could never call the apostle Paul “successful.” Was he famous? In his lifetime, he was actually infamous; Paul was a notorious troublemaker among the Jews and strict Roman rulers.
Was he wealthy? As a leader among the Jews, he most likely was. However, when Jesus Christ called him to spread the gospel to the world, his financial status changed quickly. He lived the rest of his life as an itinerant preacher, supporting himself on missionary journeys by making tents.
Was he admirable? In the eyes of the world, he was simply a strange, brash preacher of a new gospel. He was in and out of prison, often unimpressive in appearance, and the victim of an unspecified ailment. (See 2 Cor. 12:7.)
But was he powerful? In his own strength, Paul was just as weak as any other man. He said of himself, “For the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want” (Rom. 7:19). However, Paul had access to the most amazing power the world had ever known: Jesus Christ. In the face of weakness, he exclaimed, “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me” (Phil. 4:13).
That very same power is available to you today. Praise God for making you a success through His Son, Jesus Christ.
It is that same power that made an intricate fern that can bring power and meaning to our lives. What are we living for? What meaning is there to our existence? I believe it is to seek Him, and to serve Him, and to bring others into His loving presence, all else is meaningless.

Jack and I had a great group of folks and really enjoyed one of the most beautiful National Parks! Olympic is so diverse and we had great conditions to capture it’s wonderful features, here are a few more, the X PRO 2 is really excelling as a nature camera!
After we finished the workshop, Jack and I came back to Seattle so I could fly to Florida on Monday. Mike, the president of the Indianapolis Camera Club who hosted me last weekend had a great image of a interesting building, I asked him where he shot it, I couldn’t get there fast enough!! Turned out it is the EMP Museum in “SEATTLE”!!!! Jack and I got over to it today and boy is it a fun building to photograph! Here is my take from today!
This Frank Gehry designed building is a photographer’s dream!!
