Wednesday, November 25th, Thanksgivng Eve.  Sherelene is working for the last day this week so, as usual, Chester and I are hanging out at the house.  A storm front is moving in around noon today and the winds have already picked up, but I decided to fly the drone off the back deck and see how it did in the wind.   No problems, it was rock steady, but Chester saw it fly for the first time and he couldn’t figure out what kind of bird made that sound!  It was fun and I got just a couple of shots and some video.  I’m really enjoying being able to get back in the air, with out the risk to life and limb!

Hope  you are preparing ot have a wonderful thanksgiving with those you love!  I certainly am!

This morning I went out for another flying session this time to The University of the Cumberland’s.  First stop their football field, They’re the Patriots, so I thought Riot Field looked interesting!

The red seats in the bleachers were calling me!!!!

I love the blue roof and the sprinkler shadows at the water park close by!

The water slide from above was interesting.

More shadows, what you get when you shoot at 9:00 a.m.

So another morning and I haven’t crashed yet!

Short Flight 5 had to shoot these red umbrellas!

This morning I took the drone out in great light to find some graphics.  I found a lumber yard and thought maybe, just maybe, from a new perspective, it might just be a picture.  You can be the judge, but I like it!

Just up the road was a decorative rock dealer, another take off and some more images!  I started with a  reference shot from the ground and then another set from above.

The joy of getting back up in the air has rejuvenated my excitement to image making.  I hope you are enjoying coming along with me

After a very windy day Sunday the winds died down today and we had brilliant sunny sky, so….time to go flying!  This was my second flight with the DJI Mini 2 and I concentrated on stills, getting use to the new drone.  Above, while driving into our subdivision I notced how the aftenoon light was throwing long shadows of some big pine trees.  Surely that would be interesting from directly above them!  I’ll let you be the judge, but it was fun!

Next I went to shoot an old favorite aerial spot of mine, you may remember this shot from a year or two ago  A local church has three wooden crosses in a grassy field just off our local road.  In late afternoon the shdows are perfect!  Above I shot it tight and then climbed to a higher altitude to shoot it again with a slightly different composition.  As a Christian the Cross has extraordinary meaning for me, and I love this shot because of both the subject and the play of light!

Finally as I was flying back to my landing location I saw this road come into view and a car came through the frame, so I went back and hovered with the road cutting a diagonal line through the frame and waited for another car to go through, several came down the road but  this was my avorite, wish it had been a red corvette convertible!!!

So I will continue to look for some images, I promise to try and make them better each time out!!  Next time I will start to look for some graphic designs!!

Thanks for flying along with me!!

Blessings,
